To Update Layouts When Upgrading a Community

If this is an upgraded community, it is recommended that you also update your client layouts in ALIM Web Layout Editor. (ALIM Web Layout Editor is a component of the ALIM Web installation. For more information about installing and using the ALIM Web Layout Editor, see "ALIM Web Layout Editor", in the ALIM Web Implementation Guide.) Updating the layout ensures that the latest layout changes are exposed in your client interfaces. For example, if you have an existing community and a new topic exists in the new version of AssetWise, the only way to include the new topic in your client layouts is to update the layout. When running the update you will have a chance to not include any change you do not want.

  1. Open ALIM Web Layout Editor (Start > Bentley > ALIM Web Layout Editor).
  2. Log in to your community when prompted.
  3. Select File > Update All Layouts.

    The Update Layout Wizard opens.

  4. Click Next.
  5. On the Options page, do the following:
    1. Select the types of changes you want to implement and deselect the types of changes you do not want to implement.

      By default all options are selected, so that all new additions will be added and all removed items will be removed.

    2. Click Next.
  6. On the Changes required page, do the following:
    1. Select the specific changes you want to implement and deselect the specific changes you do not want to implement.

      By default all changes are selected.

    2. Click Next.
  7. On the Ready to update page, do one of the following:
    1. If there are changes to be made, click Next.
    2. If there are no changes to be made, click Cancel.
